Boost your libido naturally with this fatty food

A low libido can be caused by several things including stress, being overweight, busy schedules, or an underlying medical condition. Dealing with the underlying cause of low libido can definitely get it started once again. Or you could eat fatty foods as a means of boosting your libido, according to research.

Eating fatty foods boosts libido

Fatty foods are often frowned upon as they can contribute to health problems including cholesterol and obesity, but experts are now claiming that they can give your libido a boost. The researchers suggest that sex hormones are boosted with the consumption of fatty foods.

Leading nutritionist in the UK Dr. Marilyn Glenville explained, “Fats are important for overcoming low libido because sex hormones (such as testosterone) are manufactured from the cholesterol contained within those foods.”

Dr. Glenville also explained that consuming more fatty foods will improve sexual sensation too. “Fats will also help to keep tissues like the vagina lubricated and soft. Berries are high in antioxidants, which help optimize blood flow to the sex organs and oysters are rich in zinc, important for the production of sex hormones.”

You may be thinking that you should load up on cupcakes and cheese, but Dr. Glenville advises otherwise. Instead, you need good-quality unsaturated fats like the ones found in eggs, oils, nuts, and seeds. So, choose your fats wisely. Opting for the prior will just leave you sick and overweight, which will kill your libido for sure.

Foods high in unsaturated fat

If you’re looking to boost your libido through your diet, then you will want to eat the following unsaturated fatty foods:

  • Avocados
  • Olives
  • Nuts
  • Fatty fish like salmon
  • Certain oils like olive oil, vegetable, safflower, and soybean oil
  • Seeds like sunflower, chia, and flax

When your libido is back to normal, you’ll be able to benefit from other areas of sex. It’s been shown that those who have frequent sex tend to be healthier compared to those who do not have sex as often. This is because sex protects DNA. Therefore, making the necessary diet changes can help you boost your libido and obtain other health benefits.
