The Healthy Truth: An Introduction

emily lunardoHello Friend,

My name is Emily, and by now you may have seen some of my posts on Bel Marra Health. I am here to inform you that we will now be providing you with a weekly blog posts by yours truly. These weekly posts will be a commentary on health as a whole alongside some storytelling on my own health. But before I get into this new endeavor, let me tell you a little bit about myself.

In the last five years, I have experienced many different health problems, which made me really want to take health into my own hands. Let me explain…

I have been diagnosed with irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) and early Crohn’s disease, and at a young age this can really take a toll on you. Gone are the days when I could simply eat anything I desired – and that can be quite stressful on its own! I have seen numerous doctors and undergone countless tests, and after years of not having many answers to my health issues I finally began to receive some.

If you suffer from a stomach problem, or maybe you know someone who does, you can relate to my struggle. Now I am very mindful of what I eat and how I live.

Throughout my journey, not only did I learn about food, but I also learned about life. In my own personal journey to get well, I felt a strong need to help others and that is what pushed me into becoming a fitness trainer. I have taken numerous courses and I teach fitness classes up to four times a week. It is with great pleasure that I can help others with their own health journeys and to assist them in reaching their goals. And this is why I am writing to you.
I want to relay to you what health really means, from a real person. Sure, you can talk to your friends, family, etc., but I want to not only share with you my journey but also to reach out to you to teach you what you need to know about health.

This is where the title The Healthy Truth comes from. We are fed all this expert advice – and much of it is legitimate – but sometimes you just want to sit down with someone you can relate to, someone who has been there, thinks like you, feels what you do, and has gone through what you have.

Through these weekly posts, I will share with you not only things that I have gone through, but also a commentary of what is going on. Is losing 20 pounds in one month healthy? Is paleo the way to go? What’s the best way to get clear skin? These are all questions I know you have and I will help you answer them.

I also invite you to reach out and communicate with me. Feel free to send me your comments, your own stories, your questions, and even any suggestions on what you would like to read about – I am here for you and I want the content of this blog to be the information that you, the reader, are interested in.

In good health,

Emily
