One of the significant findings of the study included that Kalamata olives helped reduced LDL cholesterol along with improving HDL cholesterol.

Kalamata olives, and olives in general, are a staple of the Mediterranean diet, which is often hailed for being the ideal diet to adhere to for optimal health. This diet is high in fruits and vegetables, whole grains, lean proteins, and healthy fats. It is low on processed food and sugar.

The study concluded that the consumption of Kalamata olives might help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease along with improving cholesterol levels.
