Asian woman waking up in the morning. Outstretched arms.Do you wake up feeling groggy and not full of energy? Sleep is supposed to revitalize you and make you feel refreshed, but many of us simply don’t feel that way, which can make getting through the day quite the challenge.

A new sleep calculator has been released that tells you the appropriate time you should fall asleep in order to feel refreshed upon awakening.

The sleep calculator works on the premise that during the night, our bodies enter five to six sleep cycles that are about 90 minutes in length. Waking up during a sleep cycle can leave you feeling tired and groggy.

Furthermore, the sleep calculator not only recognizes the importance of the time you go to sleep, but also the time you wake up too.

Here are some sleep time suggestions based on the sleep calculator that you can try in order to feel refreshed in the morning.

When to Sleep so You Feel Awake in the Morning

  • 7 AM wake-up: Falling asleep at 9:46 PM, 11:16 PM, 12:26 AM, and 2:16 AM will leave you feeling refreshed by 7 AM.
  • 6 AM wake-up: Fall asleep at either 8:46 PM, 10:16 PM, 11:46 PM, or 1:16 AM.
  • 8 AM wake-up: 10:46 PM, 12:16 AM, 1:46 AM, or 3:16 AM.

Although every person is different and requires different sleep times, these general guidelines are definitely worth a try to see if you can start waking up feeling refreshed rather than tired and groggy.

A good night’s sleep can go a long way in maintaining good health, so it’s important that you sleep well each night.
